Description
SENSCI Blackout Bed Bug Detector(4 Pack)
The
BlackOut Bed Bug Detector
is
first step in both prevention and control. The BlackOut
interception device is placed under the
legs of furniture to trap bed bugs.
The dark, black color is attractive to bed bugs, visually pleasing, and allows for early invaders to be more easily identified. No need for tape because the device exterior is textured to allow the bed bugs to climb in and get trapped inside. The inside circle inside has a 4 inch circumference.

elps detect and capture bed bugs in a given environment
No need for tape, powders or additives to be effective
Made of strong, crack resistant recyclable plastic that won't break.
Works best in areas that are kept free of dust and dirt.
Exactly How Do the SenSci BlackOuts Work?
SenSci BlackOuts are pitfall-styled interception devices that allow bed bugs to crawl
up the monitor’s sides and fall into the inner “well” of the trap where they cannot escape.
BlackOuts can detect bed bugs in a setting as little as 2-3 weeks.
Once placed as directed,
THE BLACKOUT DEVICES should
not
be moved. They are placed in a strategic location for
optimal effectiveness. If moved, they will reduce the effectiveness of detecting and trapping bed bugs.
Maintenance and Directions for Use
Place one BLACKOUT device under each leg of beds, couches or other furniture for bed bugs.
If furniture leg does not fit in the center of the well of the device, place the device next to each leg.
If furniture is resting on the floor, place one detector every three feet on the floor around the perimeter of the furniture or bed.
No Lubricants Necessary
Although not recommended, talcum powder can be added to increase the rate at which bed bugs die after they are trapped.
If you decide to add talcum powder, do not get any on the textured surfaces leading to the trap well.
If talcum powder is
accidentally
applied to textured surfaces the rate at which bed bugs are trapped will decrease because the ability of bed bugs to climb those textured surfaces will decrease.
Cleaning to Prevent Escape
Vacuum around the traps every few days to prevent dust build-up.
Accumulated dust will allow bed bugs to escape, similar to rocks on a rock-climbing wall for people.
NOTE:
Only microfiber cloths should be used to avoid scratching the trap well.
Clean out and fully immerse the interceptors in soapy water every 2-4 weeks. Carefully remove the device from under the furniture legs. Use EXTREME CAUTION when handling the interceptor that may contain live bed bugs.
Fully dry the entire interceptor with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth. Ensure that both walls and wells are completely dry prior to replacing the traps.
Use SENSCI Blackouts
for early detection and ongoing monitoring.
Adult bed bugs are on average 5 mm long with an oval-shaped and flattened body. Bed bugs like to stay hidden, making them hard to find. Use SenSci BlackOuts to trap and identify bed bugs early.
