ANTIQUE VINTAGE 1890s HOODS SARSAPARILLA QUACK MEDICINE AUTO RACE / OWL PUZZLE

Description

Offered here is a RARE / early advertising, mail away premium. This is a two sided puzzle. One side pictures early automobiles racing in the countryside. The opposite side pictures owls, and is an advertising for "Hood's Sarsaparilla", which was a quack medicine "cure-all." The jigsaw puzzle is COMPLETE and comes in the original box. The box has a paste on label, picturing the two puzzles. In small print, it explains the puzzle could be obtained by sending in a trade-mark from any "Hood's preparations and 10 one-cent stamps." Also inside the box, are two paper pamphlets advertising various Hood's preparations. There is no date, but this was made in the 1890's. The assembled puzzle measures 14 & 3/4 inches, by 10 inches. The BOX measures 7 & 1/8 inches, by 5 inches, and is 1 inch deep. The puzzle in EXCELLENT condition. The box is GOOD. There are a couple of splits on one side of the box top. The paste-on label is a bit "nibbled" around the edges. Box and contents are guaranteed to be old & original - made over 120 years ago - or your money back.
