Up for auction are three autographed bookplates:
Jean Harris (Stranger In Two Worlds), Catherine Cookson
(The Mallen Trilogy), LaVyrle Spencer (
Morning-glory
).
Back in the early 80’s I was tasked with
procuring autographed
books as auction items for fundraisers. I would send authors
books with
return postage and they would send them back. Occasionally they would
send heir
own. Sometimes we would send them 8 or 10 bookplates. They would return them and we would suddenly have multiple autographed books for the price of a couple stamps and an envelope. My reward was to keep a couple of the bookplates.
Although these haven’t been authenticated, I can guarantee they are the bookplates that I received. Please compared them to author signature sites (tomfolio.com and kruegerbooks.com) or google “authors name + autograph” for conformation.
