Description

Humpty Dumpty has been a best-loved Mother Goose tale for centuries, and while the origins of this story is lost in medieval English history, it is a story that richly paints political satire throughout the history of the world!  Edie & Ginger have drawn inspiration from this ancient tale, and included it in their series of canvasses dedicated to Mother Goose stories and Grimm's Fairytales.
In keeping with many of the most complex of the Edie & Ginger storybook designs, the central circular panel is bordered on all sides by images drawn from the traditional story surrounding the central character.  In this design, this good ole Egg has yet to fall off his wall in the royal garden.  He is surrounded in all four corners with other characters from his story - "All the King's Horses & All the King's Men" along with the depiction of the broken egg of the story's ending.
As with all Edie and Ginger designs of this series, w
ith the addition of your own threads, talent, time and inspiration, this pristine hand painted canvas is destined to become a treasured heirloom of needlework, as I intended to do when I first purchased the piece. However, I've come to the realization that I have stockpiled more beautiful needlework charts, patterns, canvasses and books in my smoke-free, pet- friendly home studio than I can ever stitch in one lifetime, so it's time to pass some of these on to eBaying stitchers, looking online for new needlework projects, in these difficult times when it is hard to find shops open for browsing, as we did before we were trying to stay 'safer at home'.
