John Burroughs was an American naturalist and writer, active in the U.S. Conservation
movement. He wrote about outdoor life and filled his works with vivid descriptions of
nature. The first of his essay collection was "Wake-Robin" in 1871.
Born: 1837, Roxbury, New York; died: 1921, Kingsville, Ohio.
