    Description

    For sale is a Satsuma Moriage Japanese hand painted and gilded fine porcelain demitasse tea/coffee set with creamer. This lovely set and creamer feature colorful painted raised areas with image of samurais, geishas and Japanese character decorations. There are 3 mixed designs, but very similar in style, colors and size. Please see pictures. Circa 1930’s.
    There are 13 pieces:
    •6 demitasse cups
    •6 saucers
    •creamer
    One saucer and 3 cups are stamped: “HAND PAINTED BETSON JAPAN”. Remaining of set and creamer have JAPAN sticker on the bottom.
    Dimensions approx:
    Creamer is: 3 1/2” H x 4 1/2” L (from spout to handle) x 2” Diameter of base;
    Each cup is: 2 1/8” H x 3 ¼” L (top) x 1 3/8” D of base; capacity: 2–3 fl oz.
    Each saucer is: 4 7/8” in diameter.
    Good vintage pre-owned condition with slight signs of age and use. No cracks, chips or repairs. Gilt and colors (orange, sky blue, white, black, green and brown) are still vibrant. Minor hand painted and hand crafted imperfections. Please see pictures.
