SINCLAIR VINTAGE GAS STATION PAINTING 1960s Gasoline Oil ADVERTISING

$ 2376

Availability: 100 in stock

Description

Measures 25 x 18 3/4 inches
Hand painted on a J Whatman drawing board
The label on the Whatman board would date this to mid 1950s , although judging by the car in the painting it may be later , possibly 60s ?
Unfortunately I have no information on the signature ‘RA’
This painting itself is done with I believe is acrylic paint
This originally hung in a gas station in Centerbrook Connecticut across from the steam train
This was framed directly on the wall , as in there was no backing , the wall was the back and the frame and glass where on the top and screwed into the wall
The frame has been long gone for many decades
Luckily this has been stored in a basement since the station closed back in the early 70s (1972 I believe )
As stated this was stored in a basement and may smell musty or of smoke but overall this painting is in very nice condition all things considered
This would look fantastic all framed up
