    Vintage Yixing Zisha Purple Clay Tea Pot Character Seal Marks.
    Circa 20th Century.
    Aesthetic Vintage Zisha Clay Pot.
    This teapot is hand made in a chocolate brown color.
    This piece is crafted in a naturalistic pattern with bamboo spout and handle along with leafs.
    The pot has a beautiful rounded globular shape with four matching teacups.
    Features
    Holes are also made directly into clay before attaching the spout on this early piece unlike newer cheaper low quality pots with molded ball filters.
    It also have imperfections found on authentic Yixing teapots MICA (Tiny white spots) , TIERONG (Tiny black spots ) , TIAOSHA (Tiny holes on parts of the surface) and BAOZI (Tiny bumps on the surface).
    Purple Clay( Zisha) is a high quality rare clay that saw its peak during the Ming dynasty. The various types of purple clay produced different colors after being fired at high temperatures.
    Because of the nature of clay these pots absorbs flavors of tea from each brew that overtime accumulate and flavor the tea in future brewings.
    A beautiful Zisha teapot for any Gongfu tea ceremony with lovely aesthetics.

    Teapot
    measures 4.5 inches high with lid × 7 inches wide from handle and spout.
    Cups are 4 inches wide with handle × 2 1/4 inches high. Their opening is 2 1/2 inches across.
    Hallmarked on the bottom and two places under the Cover also on the
    bottom
    of each cup.
    Props not included.
    This teapot slong with teacups is in wonderful condition and appears unused.
    Important
    Notes.
    These pots should not be washed with detergents because of the absorbent nature of the clay.
    It is preferred that the Pot be seasoned before using much like a cleaning process.
    Rinse the Yixing pot inside and out. Then place it with the lid seperately in a large pot of water.
    Let your pot simmer(not boil) for about one hour. Tea leaves can be added to this process.
    After simmering allow the water to cool down before removing the clay pot.
    A lovely collectible artistic piece for gifting or using at your  first or next tea ceremony.
