Film Cult Fans, this lion head is
similar to the one in the movie
.
It was
made by the artist, "e. arnow" in 1980 and he or she signed and dated the back. It looks to be a
similar size and scale
to the one in the movie but the mane is not as full. The face is a hard material, probably plastic or resin and is covered with a felt material or flocking. It has plastic eyes, nose and whiskers. It is surrounded by layers of yarn representing the lion's mane. The face itself is 9" tall and 7" wide. The whole lion head is approximately 18" tall, 15" wide and extends 12" from the wall. It's a little difficult to get an accurate measurement because of the mounds of yarn.
It weighs 4 lbs. 7.5 oz.
Display it over a fireplace mantle like the movie, or in a den or man cave. For those with a child who loves safari décor or the film "Lion King", this would be cute in a bedroom or nursery. It's over 40 years old so it is a little grungy and dingy.
