William deLillo (Delillo, de Lillo, De Lillo),
born 1925 in Antwerp, Belgium, relocated
to the United States in the 1950s. During
the 1950s he worked as a designer of
high end fine jewelry for Tiffany & Co.,
Cartier, as well as Harry Winston in New
York. In 1967 he started his own company,
House of DeLillo, along with Robert Clark,
who at one point had been the head
designer for the Miriam Haskell company.
House of De Lillo's jewelry was often one
of a kind, couture, runway pieces, or limited
editions. He worked with exclusive clients,
such as Elizabeth Taylor, in producing
some of his pieces. Some of their fabulous
collections were bought by Neiman Marcus,
I. Magnin, and Bonwit Teller, as well as
couture designers like Adolfo, Bill Blass and
Norman Norell. In 1976 De Lillo and Clark
relocated to France, where they created
jewelry pieces for Nina Ricci, Yves Saint
Laurent, Schiaparelli, and high society
European grandes dames. In 1986 they
relocated back to the United States and
settled in the Paradise Valley area of
Arizona. Many of De Lillo's designs over
the years, have reflected obvious sculptural
influenced aspects to them, giving insight to
his long time deep interest in that art form.
In Arizona these interests were explored
much more in depth, as is apparent by his
works from that period. DeLillo continued
living and working in Arizona until his death
in 2011.

A beautiful William deLillo, sterling silver
3pc runway set, comprising the necklace,
bracelet and earrings in a period mid
century modern, brutalist design style.
This 1970s set was acquired from the
William deLillo heir to estate, and was
created by William deLillo in the mid 1970s.
Each piece in the set consists of heavy
wax & cast sterling silver links (please
see photos). The links in the necklace and
bracelet have offset sides, and the links
that make up the earrings have sides that
meet at a point giving them more of a
chevron design (please see photos). The links
in the necklace and bracelet are each signed
(please see photos), with the necklace also
signed and numbered #4 on the sides of the
clasp link (please see photo), and the
bracelet also being signed on the clasp
(please see photos). One of the earrings
is signed on the side of the link deLillo
Clark (please see photos). There are no
purity markings on the pieces but they test
for .925 sterling silver. The necklace has
approximately a 13 1/4 inches inside diameter
and will fit up to a 13 inch neck. The bracelet
has approximately a 7 inches inside diameter.
Each of the links is approximately 1 1/4 inches
at it's longest point by 3/4 inches at it's
widest point (please see photos). The weight
of the necklace is approximately 288 grams,
the weight of the bracelet is approximately
138 grams, and the weight of the earrings set
is approximately 24 grams. Who ever owns
this set will be the bearer of a rare, museum
quality treasure, by an internationally, World
renown fine jewelry designer, who has passed
and taken his creative genius with him. This
fabulous creation is in very, very good
